First Post/Testing

If you don't know, I'm moving to China in January 2012. I'm hoping to use this blog to help share my experience with friends, family, and anyone else that might just be interested. I am not a writer so my text may be lame, but I am a photographer so at least you will have some great sights to see. That's all for now. I will update as I come up with anything new. =)

I was thinking about China and your ESL course... I would advise you to think about the CELTA as it is something that you can carry with you to any location around the world, as well as the states. If you ever come back to Az, that would probably be enough to get a teaching job there as well. Something to think about. I was reading about the program you chose and it has some mixed opinions and it is questionable as to whether it is recognized outside of China. Just a thought. EIther way, good luck, keep writing and post lots of pics bro!

hey jason, thanks for the concern. one of the big reasons that i am choosing the course there is that...no matter what happens, i still spend a month in china. if i take a course here in the US and i dont like it, i'm just out the money. if i take it in china and i dont like it, atleast i was still in china for a month. also, because the way that i am...if i were to get certified here, it would take me forever to get around to trying to get a job someplace. doing my training in china with a program like this is going to get the ball rolling and keep me from being able to just procrastinate while working my regular job.
i was a little uncomfortable at first because i could not find much info on the course from past students. i got in touch with a guy that went through it though and he is doing way way better than i would ever expect to do. chatting with somebody else that went through the program took away any doubts that i had. i am completely comfortable in my decision, and very anxious to get going. (having a hard time not quitting my job and leaving early)
